Unreal Engine - MudBlood Prologue [v0.68.4.5.4.1 Hotfix] [ThatGuyLodos]

I believe this game is one of the better games revolving around breeding out there. It has plenty of incredibly well done animations on top of attractive looking models.

The whole breeding genre facinates me to no end. I enjoy the challenge of trying to get the best stats I can. However, right now the breeding part of the game is a bit shallow, gameplay wise, theres no real point to it. In fact, if you didnt engage with it what so ever, there would be no repercussions (Other than you dont get to play the game), which is a shame.

One would assume that after you've raided a couple of villages, the king would try to find your cave and attack, but there is no such thing.

You breed new goblins to raid villages, you raid villages to get new girls, you use the new girls for their stats so that you can get better goblins.

However, the random girls you can buy also has those stats, so theres really no point in raiding, other than the unique looks of some of the girls.

I am a bit saddened to see that the last few updates for the game are mostly "Hey, we've made more animations!". Dont get me wrong, its great to have more animations.

But, the gameplay is starting to lack behind and the game is becoming more of a gallery than an actual game.

Hopefully the devs will add some kind of external threat, a reason to breed the best warriors you can, weighing the options of sending out your best warrior to assist in the defence and chance losing him, or keep him back so you can continue breeding good strong warriors and lose the game because your defences needed your strongest warrior.

I've played my fair share of porn games over the years and this, with no hyperbole, has the absolute worst UI and QoL I've ever come across.

Your base is a giant cave with a series of connected rooms that you navigate through with a painfully slow camera, the speed of which can't be increased. You could also just hit a number on your keyboard or click the number to warp to a room, but as another review pointed out, said numbers have no labels. Why? Seems like a simple thing to fix up to make it more convenient for players. There's a good reason why games in this raiding + management genre are all 2D. This is the first one I've seen try a 3D approach, and while I welcome people trying new and different things, it's just a miserable experience in this instance.

Then there's the slave and monsters UI. Say you want to check a particular unit's stats, what would you do? Left click? That just highlights them. Double click? Snaps to their location in the cave. Right click then? Nope, nothing. You need to press F when you've selected their portrait in the menu. A hotkey is fine but why is there no mouse functionality at all? And if you want to move a unit to their rest area or sell it, you need to click the scroll wheel (which sometimes exits out of the menu instantly, requiring multiple clicks). This is the most illogical possible way to do this. Who thought of this, and why has it still not been changed? If you're going to have bizarre and unintuitive ways of doing things, at least let the player change their hotkeys/controls. It would be so much nicer to just right-click a unit and manage them from a drop down list.

Dragging units to particular spots to breed them sometimes just doesn't work, requiring multiple attempts until the game feels like doing it. If I'm too far away or clicked the wrong pixel then tell me. The brothel is also touchy, sometimes you'll click on a bench or bed to edit it and it just won't select it, requiring multiple clicks.

Raiding is a largely pointless venture except to get the unique slaves and is also poorly implemented and communicated. Logically when you select the area you want to raid and the units to do it, the game would give you some indication of the chances of success, as a percentage or something, but no. In Mudblood you send them away blindly and hope they're strong enough to win. There's also no notification when they return and what the result was. You can check the logs to see this info, but why not have a little pop-up as it finishes? Why do I have to go manually hunting for what is pretty important information? Gold and items are largely pointless, except to buy potions to edit your slaves, so once you've gotten the unique slaves (a long, grueling journey) you don't have to raid again. A game where raiding should be a significant part of the gameplay suddenly renders raiding almost pointless.

Currently the game has no story or goal, you just breed and raid until you're happy with your units. Usually these games have some requirement you need to meet every X amount of days because you're in debt to another character or something. Maybe that'll come later, but at the moment the game is a glorified animation gallery.

It's not all doom and gloom though. I find the models and animations to be pretty decent. It's no Wild Life, but they're quite enjoyable in their own right. There's a large variety of pairings, with different animations between species of slaves which is a nice detail. I also like the detail of slaves becoming more depraved the more sex they have, which in turn changes their expressions and behaviour during animations, whether sex or just idling. There are five levels of depravity but you only see changes on levels three and five, so why not reduce the max level to three?

Overall, this game has promise and potential, as others have pointed out, but right now it's mired by a painful, miserable, atrocious UI and a lack of desperately needed quality of life changes. This is a game that's fun to watch but nightmarish to actually play. On the off-chance that Lodos ever reads this, please consider the improvements I and others have suggested, because if the game continues to be this frustrating to play, people will just go watch gameplay online, which you have ironically uploaded personally.

Mudblood is carried by its visuals and animations, but if I'm being brutally honest, they're the only things it has going for it right now. I give it two stars for that at least.

All I can say is that when I saw over $5k on Patreon, I expected something much better.

It feels like a conceptual demo. There's almost no gameplay unless you count:
    1. Breeding a monster with a girl
    2. Waiting for her to give birth
    3. Swapping out the breeder goblin for a stronger one
    4. Occasionally raiding a stronger settlement (which just involves clicking and waiting for a progress bar)
    5. Repeating the process
It’s surprising to me that the developer thinks starting with a wall of text that’s supposed to teach you how to play is a good idea. First of all, it’s the worst type of tutorial a game can have—if you can even call it that. The most important thing however is that despite its length, I still had no clue what to do. I learned 100 times more from a comment here, and it only took me maybe 20 seconds to read it.

This is one of those games where I wonder if the developer has ever actually played their own game.

Before playing I thought Vadginator may be exaggerating in his review, but boy, was he right about everything.

The only good things I can say about it are that I like the concept (even if it's not original at all) and the character models are decent.

A 3D upgrade but almost entirely worthless variation of Monster Black Market. There's a ton of potential here and I look forward to improvements, because holy fuck it needs them.

The cave where everything happens is a nightmare to navigate. About 8 rooms and you need to memorize which keyboard number is which, because trying to navigate the darkness (increase your gamma in the game's video settings, you'll need it) is an exercise in futility. It's almost insulting that there's a sidebar panel that opens with all the room numbers, but none of them are titled. It's just a panel with 8 numbers you can click on. Good lord.

Thankfully there is a guide provided in the comments, so my next main antagonist was dealing with the UI. It is immensely clunky and not at all helpful, forcing users to open multiple windows just to see what level your goblins are that are being sent to raid and hoping you're picking the correct ones. I ended up renaming all of my goblins to their level. You are now "11". You are now "3".

I would recommend my fellow degenerates avoid this travesty until it's finished. Then maybe it will be worth playing.

A very interesting and exciting game, with decent graphics and animation. I'm sure many people will want to buy it after the full version is released. I wish the developer success and new ideas. There isn't much like this on the Internet. The idea is very good

    Version [v0.68.4.5]

So, I haven't tested the other builds, but this one leaves much to be desired. I will give it a current pass and just assume everything is mostly in some alpha or beta state(I am hoping it is at least) given the lack of building structures or expanding anything and little to no interaction besides capturing and breeding girls.

Looking beyond that I will address the main issue with the game. Time consuming.

You have three speeds. Guess what? It is slow, a little fast, barely noticeable fast. That is it.

You need to breed and raise an army. Well, I got news for you. You in for a waiting game.

You need to breed and grind levels through breeding. Yea, you guessed it, I hope you got something else to do while the game plays in background to entertain you. You need stronger goblins to raid higher level places but the only way to get stronger goblins is taking your strongest goblins to use as breeding horses with girls and then playing the waiting game for them to shoot out babies.

I spent a few hours on this and I still haven't gotten the Castle area because Goblins are just underlevel. I went through selling lower level goblins to make room for higher ones born, but still it is annoying to not have some speed that ticks faster than a 'few seconds.'

Plus capturing/raiding is just RNG wheel. Sometimes you get girls, a lot of times in raid I caught nobody. I don't know if I just depleted the sources of that area or what. But it is still off putting when an area refreshes a day and it feels like it takes 10-20 minutes of waiting for a day to refresh on the highest speed setting in the game.

The best game on here. The animations are great, the gameplay is fun, and the leveling system is unique that it almost makes you feel like a goblin horde. I wouldn't mind a food manegant system or if your health is zero for slaves they die or a armor and weapon system.

This is a very good game and gets better at every update. Of course it still has to improve some aspects in need, mostly with the UI, sounds and with the raids but I think the dev has done a excellent job so far.

Super fun and enjoyable game. The 3d models are great and the animations are really good too. This has monsters, girls, breeding, inventory management (Sorta) and a pretty good atmosphere. Currently your locked to breeding your girls/ monsters together to get stronger monsters to run raids, but the game has loads of potential and is good in its current state.

    TLDR at bottom

-Nothing fundamental changed in new update, just adding new 3some scene w/ goblins in brothel, do wish for an ffm scene in the future. Also, I have just figured out that you can just move units in the unit menu several months later... It still feels clunky with how it all flows, but I feel so stupid so let me cope by blaming the tutorial... fml. Been meaning to update the review for a while but I haven't gotten around to it, so if anything doesn't seem right, let me know-

Now, I haven't played that long but I can see the rough edges this game has so far. I know its an early build so I can excuse it, but -don't necessarily like how the camera works here, and I think the tutorial needs to be more digestable-. I should probably also say that I don't usually play 3d games all that often since they usually come across as uncanny personally, and even if I try to be objective here, keep that in mind and take it with a grain of salt.

If you ever played MbM, then this game is basically a more rougher/earlier- 3d version. You buy slaves and monsters in an alternating market at your HQ, and you use slaves to breed better monsters. However, instead of buying new monsters from the store like you mostly do in MbM, its essentially an rng chance of getting one from goblins, with a chance to get "orcs" from a lv 9 goblin (or higher) and a human, and a chance to get were-wolves from a cat-girl and goblin. So far those are the only monsters in the game unless you also count the futa succubus you can get from the dungeon, though there's not much in-game indicating those monsters existed or were atainable aside from the 3rd counter or unless you check the "what's new" tab maybe, or perhaps the guide but I don't often check it since its just a wall of text iirc and its difficult to find the relevant info.

The goal of this game is raiding, and the main objective so far is raiding the castle and steal the elf nun there so far. However, the only role you are given in raids is selecting the units who can participate, which is somewhat disappointing but isn't a detriment to the game since the focus is on building a powerful army and resource management

While there are traits that your monster's descendents inherit from slaves, they don't show up in their trait tree so it doesn't necessarily tell you how much stronger they are than average, but you can at least tell by looking at their stats. Still, the only traits in the game so far is mainly relegated to increasing stats, with the only breeding-traits being increasing growth speed after a slave reaches lvl 5 depravity iirc (which really is useless gameplay-wise if slaves still can't die).

Slaves so far are universally meant to birth monsters, though it doesn't particularly matter which slaves since they all (including unique slaves) usually just have 1 trait that slightly increases a 1 particular stat outside the end-game slaves which can increase 2 or 3 a bit more than normal. Still, in my playthrough, it never mattered so long as the next generation has a higher level (have highest level monster breed random slave at them, give new monster milk to level up [milk type didn't matter in my playthrough], rinse and repeat while selling low level monsters or send them to a meat grinder for more space). There isn't anything wrong with how it is right now, but I wished there was a bit to incentivize selective breeding so that you could have squads excelling in particular areas, such as agility, accuracy, melee, etc. At least the character editor for slaves seems detailed, you can even give them clothes too, though it does have some clipping iirc, never really interacted with clothing much. I should also mention that from what I remember playing, slaves do not die if hp reaches 0, but it might be different now since I haven't tested it out yet in the new update but I doubt there is any death so far

For base building as of now, there is basically the same facilities you would find in MbM (Including the shower/spring along with alchemy somewhat w/ the market to buy items, which are practically about as useless), though they are in preset positions with little you can do to customize them aside from a couple options. I would've liked to have a base-building element like what you could do MbM and other RM games so it does detract a bit from the game, but it truly does lose 1 star in conjunction with the camera

I do have nitpicks with the game such as highlights, influence of traits on monster generations, and how the tutorial hits you like a brick wall each time you click on the guide (making it into a page/tab format would really help imo), I honestly do not like how the camera is works for this particular type of game as you would like you would in a walking simulator along with the option of toggling into a units pov though that is still imperfect as you can go into their skulls and you cant necessarily see the action because orcs are too damn fat. Still, I would appreciate these as an optional toggle, but that is only perspective. I do not like this as, although space is limited, I would rather just have a top-down view of my base and and move units around like normal RM games or MbM as it flows much better than a pseudo-walking sim. You can use use the shortcuts bound to the number keys, but this feels like work around rather than addressing how clunky it feels.

There's finally some music in this game but its not exactly not worthy, and while it isn't exactly the main focus here, I do like having it instead of having dead air. I still think the models look uncanny, but I am not knocking it against this game since I do think they look decent.

The goblins and orcs are ugly as expected and green skins don't have any rights to complain either, with werewolves look alright. I mostly think the slaves look a bit uncanny though, particularly the face but thats the burden which comes with 3d I guess, and it doesn't exactly bother me after putting enough time into it, and esepecially after the face animatoins for short models got fixed (they didn't have face anims before then). If you look closely too, you can see a bit of jank and wonkiness with some clipping here and there, but it is the best part of the game, but I do think they can look better imo.

    ==Performance==

I run a pretty shitty PC that, while not a potato, barely falls short of meeting modern gaming standards. While I may not run any modern game at max graphics beyond 10fps, I can still pretty much run any H-game without an issue, though it did start to chug/heave a bit while slowly turning my room into a sauna when I played this game on max settings at 4k so keep that in mind.
I do suggest turning off toon-mode if you don't think it looks good, and maybe set the game to 1080p resolution if you have just about as much of a shitty pc as mine, gets a bit warm but its fine there w/ everything turned to max-

Though I do find the models a bit wonky and rough, facial animations stiff, alongside the occasional hair clipping, I think the animations are serviceable and done well, though -limited to 3 monsters. There are also multiple animations w/ extra ones unlocked after slave reaches max depravity so + 1 for that-
Still, no matter how good they are, I have been exposed to the forbidden sorcery of several 3d artists, so I am forced to give this a C- B due to my strong bias, for I have been spoiled, my standards high, and depression great for there shall never be a 3d game where
    "2 travelling drows,
    hung like a horse,
    are rendered to plow,
    a busty milf whore."
    - A Middle-aged Femboy (if you know, you know).
[F = *disqusted look* "Euugh" *walks away* || C = "Eh, good enough" || S = "Whoa! Where did my pants go?!" ]

    ==Suggestions & Improvements==
1st, -Smooth out the gameplay. Start by making the tutorial and guide more digestable, such as walking us through the general process and giving new players tips while having the guide be divided into tabs. Then, replace the toggle with top-down instead of a slightly lower and slower pov (just have it replace pov camera). After that, allow us to just square select or hold shift/control then click units for multi-select for a better flow.
2nd, Improve quality of life, such as adding highlights to let players know when they can and have selected something, or maybe expanding the shortcut menu for units.
3rd, improve on already existing assets and systems, such as the springs, the raiding, the brothel, and the market.
Afterwards, work on any other ideas. mechanics, monsters, or concepts that are desired to be added into the game, and please add base building at some point.

    ==TLDR==
Early, not bad, the potential is there but the game is rough enough for you to see the edges, and the foundation is a bit wobbly with some cracks IMO.

If an update solves my gripes about the gameplay, such as the camera and improves QoL I'll update my review for a 4/5. If you just want to play someting to scratch the MbM and taimanin RM itch, you could try this out but I'd rather play something else.

The concept of this game is very cool.
    I'm looking for a goblin role-playing game.
I understand that this game is being developed. So it still has a lot of bugs.
-A goblin den with a very large area. Moving from one room to another requires the use of keyboard shortcuts.
-The automatic system still has limitations.
-There is still no technology system that will bring the girls to maximum benefit, such as the Goblin Rider or the Meat Shield in raids.
Keep trying, you are doing well.

The game should be a simple management game, you assign girls to goblin, they make stronger children and create stronger sprawl with some inbreeding.
Even if it have potential, it have some heavy problem: One of witch is the camera and the cave layout. I was lost in this cavern, the camera doesn't help and even with the keyboard shortcut it doesn't help to locate any usefull object like the place where the women can give birth also the cave is dark, it's hard to see. Lastly dragging a someone to an object feel clunky.
There is no indication on what happen in a raid other than "you win, you get a girl, you lost, you lost the entire army"
The models are good and the sex scenes are a selling point, but overall it need more improvement.

Poor attempt to copy and paste someone else's game into a 3D environment.

    Controls are clunky and slow.

UI is somehow copied and made worse at the same time.

An ok game with good potential. However, it lacks enough content to keep you playing long-term. Animations are very limited and there's only 3 types of Monsters and 4 types of girls atm, 3 of which share the same animation set between them. I hope the developer sticks with it and continues to add more content in the future because it does have a ton of potential.

    NG1906

I'm a fan of any dev that goes to the effort of creating a full 3D game with animations; this is a good example of that sort of work.

This game is really an animation showcase: each slave / monster combo has unique animations, and these change somewhat as the game progresses. Controls are a bit confusing, and really focused more on seeing the animations. To that end, there is no PC, the "PC" is a camera. Gameplay is fairly short to completion; it should take about a hour to play through to defeating last area using walkthrough.

Some reviews compare it to monster black market, which it's nothing like. MBM is a full game, and this is more of a demo. This game reminds me more of 90 Seconds Slave / Cost of Survival, which likewise had janky controls and gameplay but excellent 3D animations.

There's a ton of potential here for a full game, and hope the author sticks with it.

MudBlood Prologue is clearly intended and designed as an Animation Showcase. The animations are the Sun of this game's solar system with everything else revolving around that center of mass.
It's worth pointing out that concentrating on the porn and just penciling in gameplay is not a crazy development decision. Illusion made the same choice for almost all of its games.

    Positives:
+ Hearty variety of vaginal & anal sex animations with Goblins, Pigmonsters, and Werewolves (as of this writing). There is also milking, birthing, and a few nice girl idling/masturbating animations.
+ Excellent form and variety of female bodies. They are a superb vision of Enhanced realism.
+ Enough gameplay so that the player can feel like they've earned new girls and monsters.
+ There have been over six months of updates which is a good indication of expanded future content, but the future is a hope, never guaranteed.

    Criticism:
    - Currently there are no Insertion animations. Dropping a monster and a girl together instantly starts the dick-inside pumping. The best animation focused games recognize that having the full Insert->Fuck->Orgasm sex cycle makes an essential contribution to player immersion and enjoyment. (see: RapeLay, Sold Girl Town, Insult Order, JSK games)

    Conclusion:
If you want sophisticated mechanics, challenging gameplay, and intricate level design, try Dark Souls.
If you want to see jiggle-physics-enabled bimbos banged by monsters, then there are enjoyable animations to be found in MudBlood Prologue.
